What Halftint collects
Short version: your palette and your colours stay on your device. I use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and which parts of the app get used, so I can tell whether the tool is helping anyone.
Your palette and your mixes
The app runs in your browser. The tubes you add, the colours you pick, the photos you sample from and the recipes it computes never leave your device. There are no accounts and no server that stores them. You can export your palette to a file at any time, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Usage analytics
This site and the app load Google Analytics (GA4). It records page views and a handful of events: that a palette was saved and how many tubes it had, that a recipe was computed, that Mix Fix or the photo picker was opened. It does not receive which colours or which tubes. Google Analytics also collects the usual technical details (browser, device type, approximate location from the network address, and a cookie that recognises a returning browser). Google’s own description of how it uses this data applies.
If you would rather not be counted, a content blocker that blocks googletagmanager.com stops it entirely, and the app works exactly the same without it.
Hosting
Both the site and the app are served by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (network address, requested page, time) for a short period to run the service.
