Palettes
Limited palettes, mapped
Every limited palette is a territory: a definite set of colours its tubes can physically mix. These pages draw each territory with pigment physics: what is inside, what is out of reach (with the ΔE stated), and the single tube that extends each border furthest.
Zorn
4 tubes, 6.9% of the wheel at mid value
Split-primary
7 tubes, 27.1% of the wheel at mid value
Earth
7 tubes, 5.3% of the wheel at mid value
Impressionist (no black)
6 tubes, 32.4% of the wheel at mid value
Computed with the same Kubelka–Munk engine the app runs, from generic single-pigment tubes; each palette page shows all three values and the full analysis.
The map for your own rack
These four are the classics. Your palette is the one that matters, and Halftint computes its gamut from the tubes you own.
